Highlights magazine features stories, articles, games, puzzles, science experiments, craft creations, and many others. These stories definitely help promote inclusivity at such a young age. I also particularly enjoy the stories that put emphasis on values, as well as the introduction of new ideas and facts from different cultures and traditions. The transition from one entertaining activity to another feels very organic. It has a clearly defined pace and layout, making it easy for readers to go through the magazine. The diversity of topics and activities it offers definitely caters to every eager child’s learning needs and high-spirited desires. What I love about High Five is how rich and robust the variety of its content is. The short stories provide such wonderful entertainment and is very much enjoyed as well. We even make a game out of it and race to see who can find all the hidden items first. She’s my little treasure-hunter who loves to search for things, so finding hidden objects is right up her alley. Another one of her favorites is Hidden Pictures. She especially likes That’s Silly-a colorful illustration of a scene that includes silly and funny images. My preschooler, Livia, loves High Five magazine. Furthermore, the magazine hones skills that prepare young kids for reading, math, science, art, and many other areas of learning. There’s nothing better than feeding their curiosity with stories, games, and activities that provide a wealth of information in a fun and engaging way. High Five magazine is especially designed and created with the inquisitive preschoolers and kindergarteners in mind. Why? Because of all its amazing content, that’s why! The eagerness instantly turns into full-blown excitement whenever my husband announces, “You’ve got mail.” They both literally jump for joy upon receiving their High Five and Highlights magazines. They are always so eager to see what’s inside. Leila and Livia often accompany their dad to collect mail from the mailbox. Additionally, Livia also received a new subscription to High Five magazine from Gran. And just this summer (a few months before her sixth birthday), it was updated to Highlights magazine. Then at age two, her subscription was upgraded to High Five magazine.

She was gifted an annual subscription to Hello magazine, courtesy of Gran (my mother-in-law who is an avid reader herself). When she was about a year old, she received a special present that would foster her love of reading. We started reading to Leila at two months old, who even at such a young age already showed great interest in books.
