I also apologize as I typed Adobe Reader and it is Adobe Flash Player that I meant and that is no longer supported in Windows. (I would also strongly recommend that you disable automatic Acrobat updates and check for them and apply them manually a week or so after they are released! And certainly don't do such updates at the same time as you are updating the operating system.)

Note that it is generally prudent to set Windows 10 Pro to delay installations of new updates such as you would receive each Patch Tuesday for a week or so. Microsoft apparently pulled and then re-released their updates within a week. It is known that the March 2021 “Patch Tuesday” Windows 10 updates were somewhat problematic and depending upon one's system configuration, caused printing problems and BSODs (Blue Screen of Death system crashes). 32-bit and 64-bit applications can and do work side-by-side without any problems.

The fact that the current version of Acrobat Pro is 32-bit has nothing whatsoever to do with the issues you are experiencing. Acrobat Pro is a superset of Acrobat Reader and having both installed in parallel is an invitation to problems!) Downloading Acrobat Pro does not download Acrobat Reader with it what makes you think that is the case? (By the way, you should absolutely not attempt to install both Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader on the same system.

I was finally able to do a file fix, a C: drive fix, uninstall Adobe Acrobat Pro, get Microsoft 365 reinstalled, fix Windows security update, fix Firefox browser. I can't even list all the error codes that came up over the next day or two. All internet browser's (Edge, Firefox, Chrome) freeze once opened and all applications when opened freeze. It reverted all my Microsoft 365 applications to Office 16.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 32 bit then attempted update and everything on my computer messed up. However, it does not recognize my Acrobat X Pro.On 3/10/21 my Windows 10 version 20H2 64bit did a security update.

I should point out that AAM updated all my CS6 Design Premium programs, and at also installed another program with no difficulty. For instance, there was an AcroPro.msi file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Setup Files\(and then a long string of numbers and letters.) Most of them were in the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, most frequently in a subfolder with the name of the program being installed. I did a search on installer and got a lot of hits. I typed in the name of the new folder and pressed enter. I got a screen asking if I wanted to allow file operations to make changes on my hard drive.

I checked my laptop, also running Windows 8 Pro, and there was no C:\windows\installer folder there either. I do have Show hidden files and folders turned on. Second, there is no C:\windows\installer folder. They are apparently removed when the failed installation completes. I do not see a way to access the files you name. It is a seamless process that does the download, extraction, and installation. First, I recently got a Creative Cloud membership, so I am doing the install through the Adobe Application Manager. However, I am unable to impliment the steps you indicate.
